6-13-2012 WHITEWATER WEDNESDAY - 2012/05/30 12:36
WHITEWATER WEDNESDAY WET YOUR PANTS ON THE KERN! http://www.kernvillechamber.org/events/white-water-wednesday.html The 25th Annual Wet & Wild Whitewater Wednesday will be held Wednesday, June 13, 2012 in Kernville, at Riverside Park, on the Wild & Scenic Kern River, California’s whitewater rafting capital! It will be a fun-filled day of sunshine, water fights, soggy sneakers, and action packed rapids. On this day only, the Kernville Chamber of Commerce, along with the commercial rafting companies operating on the Kern River, will sponsor the 25th Annual Whitewater Wednesday and two thrilling trips will be offered: One-hour Lickety Split Class I-III, $30/person or Two Licketys, (Double Lick), for only $55/person. Two-hour Sequoia Splash Class I-IV, $53/person. Lunch is included with all trips. Extra lunches are available for purchase. All proceeds go to the Kernville Chamber of Commerce to help fund community projects such as Whiskey Flat Days and Christmas in Kernville as well as main-tenance of community venues like the baseball field, and rodeo grounds. All trips will be led by professional guides and equipment will be provided from the contributing outfitters. The one-hour Lickety Split trip is an inexpensive introduction to whitewater rafting. The run is full of enough lively excitement to challenge just about everyone from tykes to grandmas. The two-hour Sequoia Splash is a step-up in dif-ficulty from the Lickety and negotiates some of the best Class IV sections of the Upper Kern. Trips will start promptly at 9:00am and run throughout the day. Hamburgers furnished by the local Burger King in Lake Isabella, all the fixin’s by Cheryl’s Diner, and chips by Frito-Lay, Bakersfield, will be waiting at the end of each run. Give this drenching treat to your employees, customers, family and friends, or another, unfortunately dry, loved one. This is a mid week bonus!! The water will be average this year, making for some exciting trips. Minimum age is 7 years for the Lickety Split and 16 years for the Sequoia Splash. One does not need to know how to swim. Everyone is required to wear Coast Guard approved life jackets which the outfitters provide. Swimsuits, shorts and a pair of old sneakers are the clothes for the day. We guarantee you’ll wet your pants on the Kern! Call or log on for reservations or more information: FIND IT HERE!
